Even though vaccination is an important part of their care, but regular visits to the vet is also important it allows them to be screened for a variety of diseases, and that provides owners with the best information about caring for their pet.

Pet Health Tip #2-Keep It Cool
A dangerous condition is a heat stroke where normal body temperature in cats of 101.5 degrees and in dogs 102.0 degrees is very elevated, sometimes as high as 109.5 degrees. Some symptoms if your pet is having a heat stroke are vomiting, increased breathing, unresponsiveness and collapse. Keeping your pet away from having a heat stroke you should provided them with shade and fresh water. If you think your pet or someone else’s is suffering from one dip or spray them with cool water and see a vet as soon as possible. Do not use cold or ice water!

Pet Health Tip #3-Nasty Pests
Fleas and ticks are more then an irritation, they can cause some seriously dangerous problems, such as from mild skin irritations to life threatening disease. Flea allergy dermatitis is the most common cause of itching and scratching in dogs and cats this can be caused by fleas. Ticks may cause a number of diseases, such as Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Using a flea and tick control product will help keep these nasty pests away.

Making your home and yard a safe place for your pet is important and it can help prevent serious accidents. Watch out for poisonous plants, pesticides, medications, antifreeze, low electrical cords and other small objects pets could get into and choke on. Keep your area a safeguarded place.

When training your dog think positively, most dog owners think about training their dog and they think negatives. If you want your puppy not to chew on the furniture, not to pee on your carpet and not to jump on guests, then you need to stay positive and train your dog the right way.

Keeping your pets teeth clean and healthy is very important, just like humans they need to be cleaned regularly. Bacteria in the mouth mixed in with saliva and food between the gums and the teeth then cause plaque on the tooth. If not properly taken care of these teeth with plaque and tartar build up can lead to gum disease and periodontal disease. Make sure to care for your pets teeth just as you do for your own!

Make sure to show your pet love, talk to them, play with them, make sure when there excited to see you then be excited to see them back. Showing your pet love is important because neglecting them will make them feel unwanted and constantly upset. Remember a happy pet lives longer!
